My Services Offered

I offer a range of different services at GlobeCoRe. I primarily work in individual therapy; I help guide you in achieving the goals you set for yourself and moving forward from your past. I also provide a similar reach in my groups by connecting marginalized groups like women dealing with trauma or members of the LGBTQ+ community, respectively, who are struggling with internalized conflict.

Alongside these services, I also provide supervision for current psychology graduate students. I provide them with clinical hours and guidance through their graduate programs.

What it is like being in session with me

I provide the feeling of complete and total acceptance. I bring my personality into the sessions. My techniques allow you to be your full self and speak your truth in fullness. I will encourage you to let out anything you need to experience at that moment. The entire experience is about you and what you need to feel.

I want to leave this world a better place than how I found it. When I was a child, I believed the only way I could achieve this was through a huge-scale discovery, like curing cancer; but now I understand that I can achieve this by helping one person at a time; that’s how I choose to truly make a difference. Whether I am helping you through therapy or guiding you through the completion of your clinical supervision, I am here to help in any way that I can.

Treatment/Approach modality

The person-centered approach is my primary method of helping people. I follow the conversation anywhere you need to go; the control is with you. I also bring reality and strength-based approaches, as well. You may lead the conversation, but we still will make sure that you get the support and direction needed in a therapy session.

Even with supervision, I provide the required hours for your degree, and I also offer guidance to you as a mentor. It is important to me that you be able to always ask me for any advice about your education and career.

My specialties

I primarily work with people who have suffered from trauma and grief/loss. I help young adults navigate through their past traumas. Childhood trauma, especially sexual trauma, is what my work mostly consists of, helping people deal with the hardships that they faced at a young age and that still continue to affect their daily lives.

Though trauma is my specialty, I still work with a wide array of clients with various symptoms and issues. I do work with the LGBTQ+ community, and I often help my clients who are a part of this community better understand themselves, their identity, and their place in the world. I offer a similar set of specialties in my group therapy work. I lead a Trauma group for women and one centered around the LGBTQ+ community.

I also work with those struggling with addiction, especially when it is used as a coping mechanism for other issues. Substance abuse is often linked with other struggles, and I help find the root causes and guide my clients through maintaining sobriety. In addition to the symptoms mentioned, I work with clients with disabilities and their families. Whether a person is dealing with a disability for themselves or through a loved one, it can be stressful. No matter your background or past, I will try and help you fight through your symptoms, embrace this part of you, and be the best version of yourself.

Specialties include: trauma; depression and anxiety; LGBTQ+ issues; addictions; grief and loss; women’s issues; developmental and intellectual disabilities; religious stressors

How therapy helps

Our society today holds more pressure than ever. With social media, there is little escape. You are constantly surrounded by millions of people and opinions. It can be overwhelming and difficult to shut out.

Similarly, our society now pushes quick fixes to complex problems like the use of medication. Though medication can be a great help for some people, therapy can work alongside medication. Therapy can not only help relieve the symptoms you are feeling, but also teach you how to deal with them and grow as a person; eventually, to the point where you may not need medication anymore.

My credentials

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with over six years of experience working with various populations. I received an M.S. in Community Counseling from Mercer University and an M.A. in Liberal Studies in Social Sciences from Hollins College. I worked in state-funded facilities in a variety of capacities, including helping people in crisis, completing veteran assessments, and counseling clients. Most of my experience stems from being a trauma-informed care trainer for the state where I trained everyone from bus drivers to top executives on how to see trauma and deal with issues that may arise.

My hobbies

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching old sappy musicals and spending time with my two dogs, Max and Chloe.
